Gulfsulfancy Books was started in 2019 by three editors and a librarian who'd watched the reading internet collapse into algorithmic feeds and bestseller-of-the-week churn. We made a deliberately quiet alternative: a small editorial team who read full-time, narrow ruthlessly, and arrange what's left into bundles and a permanent library you can return to.
How we curate
Every title in the library has been read end-to-end by one of our editors. Most titles have been read by two. Anything we couldn't finish doesn't make the shelf — and we're transparent about which titles we considered and rejected, with notes.
How we earn trust
No paid placements. Ever. Authors and publishers don't buy slots in our bundles or library — we acquire titles ourselves at fair commercial terms. The recommendations you see are recommendations, not advertorials.
